On the basis of a mainly empirical study, this paper traces the political and social trajectories of a sample of eight typical actors from Young People for Change. This is a diverse group of young Egyptians who took advantage of the emergence of protest movements at the end of 2004 to create their own political experiment. A number of questions arise from the study of their various trajectories. Is the fact that these young people experienced the same collective difficulties or, more specifically, that they have never known any other president than Mubarak, really sufficient to unite them? Moreover, how does this structure their attitudes and choices?
